Hunt, Taylor and McBride Assoc., Financial Literacy Courses for Youth
Donyelle McBride, Executive Trustee
860.985.2081
Financial literacy for youths-$50 per student.
I am a former government employee turned Entrepreneur of 30+ years.  I knew very young I did not want to work for others. I homeschool my granddaughter who loves to crochet and whose desire is to become a nail technician. I have been given access to information the public doesn’t know exists.  This information has changed my life and the trajectory of my grandchildren’s financial future.  A key wealth principle. “To whom much is given, much is required.”  The information I will share in the sessions was shared with me.  It would be selfish to keep to myself.  Financial literacy for youth covers the keys the wealthy teach their children.  What is real money? What is a private trust and private foundation?  How these entities differ from what we’ve been taught. Our children may be more financially secure learning how to become Junior Trustees and operate within a trust vs working a job.  If you’ve ever heard, “Trust-fund baby”, the information shared in the financial literacy for youth sessions may give access to the information you and your family might be looking for.

HOMESCHOOL ONE-DAY SUPPLEMENTAL CLASSES OFFERED AT THESE LOCATIONS
Parents – important information
What are homeschool supplements? They are one day a week options to supplement a homeschool curriculum. In CT, signing your child up at the same location, 2+ times per week, and dropping them off for a group/class situation, is private school attendance. That is crossing from homeschooling to private schooling. Further, no private education entity should be asking you for any information about your homeschool curriculum or plan for your child.  Nor should they be monitoring your program in any way to determine that you are in compliance with the law or otherwise data mining/tracking your home education plan. If you have such an experience, please inform CHN’s Board of Directors at: CHNBoard@outlook.com

Common Ground Homeschool Supplemental Classes
are available in New Haven, on a campus that includes vegetable gardens, friendly farm animals, hiking trails, forests, and creative nature playspaces. We welcome children ages 5 – 13+ to our NATUREYEAR FOREST SCHOOL program and/or the KIDS UNPLUGGED AFTER SCHOOL program. Marketing Options – Showcase Your Business!

“Newsletter & Social Media Opportunity”
This is a social media platform marketing outreach opportunity.  CHN has around 25,000 CT families on their platforms; newsletter, and multiple FB pages, plus our website.  This program will also be expanding to include social media ads as well.

“Resource Handout Bags”
CHN distributes these bags at our conference and in-person Info Night events. You simply provide us with the marketing materials – flyers or brochures.  We do the rest. This program will also be expanding to include social media ads as well.

“Viewing Library”
Would you like to donate some samples of your product or service?  CHN has been building a library of homeschool resources; kits, curricula, and more.  These items are not for sale, nor are they to be checked-out by anyone – they are solely for parents to have the best opportunity which is to see the resource and look through it in-person.  We have experienced homeschoolers to help answer their curriculum questions. They will then have the contact info for making a purchase later.

“Conference Exhibitor or Speaker”
CHN hosts an annual conference and every year it is growing.  We always fill and have to close registration, so we are working on that expansion.  If you are interested in our 2025 homeschool conference, send us an email to get placed on our Contact List.   Be sure to include the details of what you have to offer.  Our focus is education related products and services for pre-K through college.

“Zoom Guest Speaker”
Do you have a product or service that is likely to draw an audience on Zoom?  We are interested in specialized services that can be explained on a Zoom platform.  If you think this might be of interest to you and the community, contact us.

How to Reach Out?
Email the CHNboard@outlook.com and in the Subject Line of the email, be sure to include one of the Option Topics listed above.  Inform us of what it is you are interested in, and we will get back to you with either more questions, or further details on how to proceed.  We might respond in an hour or a week. If you do not hear from us, please email us again.  We are all volunteers and it is family first.  That said, we are typically fairly prompt in responding to inquiries.
